The Society would like to thank all of our authors at Helium for contributing to the growth of our website and for participating in our contest. Our relationship with Helium has proved to be quite an asset to our company and we are grateful for all of the support that we have received. The winners of our contest were Kate Kennedy and Janette Bubb, two writers who have contributed an enormous amount of content. Because of the nature of our articles, the two authors were awarded with brand new Burton gear that was purchased from our friends at http://snowboards-for-sale.com. Congratulations ladies! Reference our press release page on the Society.com to read more about this exciting development.

Yesterday we flipped the switch. After months of designing, developing, testing, refining, and more refining our baby was ready to be delivered. And now that it’s out we know life has just begun. There are many features in the pipeline and a few known bugs that should be fixed today and tomorrow; but that being said it’s refreshing to see the site live. As you navigate around, please send us your feedback using our form or just send us an email at info@thesociety.com.

USA Today has recently published several Top 25 Lists that coincide with their 25th year of existence. I have to say that during my many night stays at Marriotts, Hiltons and Hyatts I became accustomed to reading the “Nation’s Newspaper.” And although some critics claim this publication should actually be called the Nation’s Doormat due to the distribution methods, I would like to stick up for the newspaper that greets so many business travelers each morning.
After all, how could anyone bash a publication that includes Big Bertha golf clubs as one of the top 25 inventions since 1982. Yes, you read that correctly, Big Bertha was ranked #19 which is higher than disposable contacts, stair master, TiVo, Purell, Home satellite TV and even Karaoke. Pretty impressive.
At The Society we are avid golfers and we’re always excited to see the industry being promoted. I guess it’s expected that PowerPoint beat out Big Bertha (but only by four spots). Maybe in the next 25 years we’ll see some leisure inventions beat out the workplace. In the meantime, let’s continue to dream about our next round on the links.
To see the rest of the top 25 inventions go to USA Today’s “25 years of ‘eureka’ moments”

We’ve got some great new features at The Society. One feature we’ll highlight today is the geo-coded articles. Why would we do that? At The Society we have many articles focused on different types of travel and locations. Thus, we display relevant information on the property profiles.
Now travelers looking at properties to rent will be able to get great information on the area. If you have any articles that you’d like to publish please contact our editor at editor@thesociety.com.
