USA Today: A business travelers “Good Morning”
September 15th, 2007 by Mike
USA Today has recently published several Top 25 Lists that coincide with their 25th year of existence. I have to say that during my many night stays at Marriotts, Hiltons and Hyatts I became accustomed to reading the “Nation”s Newspaper.” And although some critics claim this publication should actually be called the Nation”s Doormat due to the distribution methods, I would like to stick up for the newspaper that greets so many business travelers each morning.
After all, how could anyone bash a publication that includes Big Bertha golf clubs as one of the top 25 inventions since 1982. Yes, you read that correctly, Big Bertha was ranked #19 which is higher than disposable contacts, stair master, TiVo, Purell, Home satellite TV and even Karaoke. Pretty impressive.
At The Society we are avid golfers and we”re always excited to see the industry being promoted. I guess it”s expected that PowerPoint beat out Big Bertha (but only by four spots). Maybe in the next 25 years we”ll see some leisure inventions beat out the workplace. In the meantime, let”s continue to dream about our next round on the links.
To see the rest of the top 25 inventions go to USA Today”s “25 years of ‘eureka’ moments“
