Maps to Increase Inquiries
November 11th, 2009 by Joseph
Long gone are the days of the Triptik, long since replaced by the GPS. The same logic can be added to online marketing of vacation rentals. While pictures are “worth a 1,000” words, a map may close the deal. Did you know:
- Maps showing location are one of the top requested travel features?
- Listings with Google Maps ™ average 33% more inquiries versus listings without maps.
- Showing your location in proximity to popular locations and landmarks will enhance your inquiries and closings?
OK, some property managers have mentioned “we just provide the address” and inquiries can look on Google Maps and so forth. This is OK, however, a few words of caution:
- Not all addresses plugged into Google Maps are truly accurate.
- Certain terrain features i.e. ski runs, bodies of water and so forth may not be accurately portrayed.
- An unscrupulous inquirer may use the address to secure ownership information and contact the owner directly.
- Providing an address could lead to questions concerning privacy.
There are multiple map applications on the marketplace. Review and consider which is most correct for your marketing needs.
