House Hunters International Lands in Belize

January 26th, 2010 by Joseph

Two couples residing in Calgary, Canada desire a tropical vacation residence, their search takes them to Belize. The clients view three residences and choose one for their purchase. While the clients wanted a two-bedroom unit, one of the options was a one-bedroom flat at Las Terrazas. The clients were so impressed with the beachfront location, the luxury interiors and the many resort amenities including pool, dining, concierge and water sports, they chose to purchase the one bedroom flat. You can view a 3 minute version of the show at the following link which showcases Las Terrazas: Belize Escape

For those of us who watch the show and wish we could trade places with the buyers, your opportunity has arrived. Our partners at Las Terrazas are offering:

The UnBELIZEable Winter Special

For those in the know, Belize is a beautiful destination just a few hours from many gateway cities in the United States. While not a staple of the popular press, Belize has been a jewel in Central America well known by dive enthusiasts visiting ”The Blue Hole”. Yet there is so much more to Belize. It is a dynamic destination where vacationers can be as active or as relaxed as they desire.

One of our favorite resorts is Las Terrazas located on Ambergris Caye, truly one of the most beautiful locations in this lovely country. One of the many attributes of Las Terrazas is the hybrid opportunity of a vacation residence rental within a full-service luxury resort setting. Guests of Las Terrazas enjoy flats ranging from one to three bedrooms equipped with central a/c, 42” plasma televisions with cable/DVD player, surround sound, iPod docking stations, high-speed internet, fully-equipped kitchens and washer/dryer.

While the accommodations are some of the finest in Belize, we would be remiss not to mention the beautiful resort setting including the largest private beachfront on the island, a PADI 5-Star dive facility on-site, 70” infinity lap pool, pool-side bar and a personal favorite, The “O Restaurant” serving delectable edibles sure to impress the most demanding gourmand.

Our friends at Las Terrazas Resort - where “natural paradise meets the ultimate island escape” and the only member of Preferred Hotel Group in Belize are promoting a special available on stays of 4 nights or more between Jan 3 - March 31, 2010, a truly glorious time in Belize and an excellent occasion to escape the winter blues up north.

Opportunity Awaits in Central America

December 23rd, 2009 by Joseph

We hear the same comment about once a week “We are looking for an unspoiled getaway. We want the Caribbean and Mexico as it was before the high-rises and all-inclusive resorts dotted the landscape. We want the unique yet with all the luxuries intact.” We suggest a few opportunities “south of the border….of Mexico”.

As the chill sets in and we prepare for Christmas, our neighbors in Central America are offering many opportunities to escape the snow and cold. From a resort in Belize accessible by boat to an estate in Panama to a flat in Costa Rica, we have options from the Caribbean to the Pacific available through the winter season. Even if you missed the booking window for Christmas, it’s going to be a long winter (which by the way officially began on Monday, Dec. 21st) so do not delay because as we enter the ice-box up north, in Central America, it’s just heating up.

Around the world homeowners, property managers, resorts, developers and fractional owners have found The Global Bundle to be the perfect solution for their online marketing efforts.

Below is a recap of October including success stories and some select new properties we’ve added in the past 30 days.

Success Stories:
Beaver Creek, CO: Ski Safari home was booked within the first week of being listed through The Global Bundle. The booking was for over $10,000.  Now that’s an ROI we like to see for our clients.  Every booking from now one just adds more to the bottom line.   See home here: http://thesociety.com/vacation+rental/23987

West Vail, CO: This “accessible luxury” condo had zero bookings through the first few weeks in The Global Bundle.  Our account management team worked with the owner and adjusted the headlines and offered a reasonable discount for early bookings.  The result:  immediately saw 4x’s the inquiries, 3 of which ended up booking in October alone.  See home here: http://thesociety.com/vacation+rental/23907

Ambergris Caye, Belize: Las Terrazas Resort booked the entire resort for a 40 person Wedding.  40 guests staying for 7 nights.  The Global Bundle reaches travelers and large group planners.  See the resort here: http://thesociety.com/vacation+rental/23844

East Hampton, NY: This unique Whale Rock home, which is up for sale, was put into The Global Bundle to earn rental income as it was on the market.  Within the first couple of days of listing, this property was filled for Labor Day and 2 off-season bookings.  See the home here:  http://thesociety.com/vacation+rental/23668

Paradise Valley, AZ: This $10 million estate had very few inquiries for the previous months.  It was placed into The Global Bundle to target affluent audiences and the owner reported a qualified inquiry within 24 hours of listing.  See the home here: http://thesociety.com/vacation+rental/23829

Holidays in a vacation rental, making it memorable

November 4th, 2009 by Joseph

One of the many advantages of a vacation rental during the December holidays is the opportunity to make your lodging “personal and memorable”. From the Rocky Mountain West to the beaches of Mexico, Florida and the Caribbean, celebrating the holidays infused with generations of tradition (or make some new ones) in your vacation residence can provide memories to last a lifetime. We interviewed a few of our partners who offered some ideas:

Ski Holiday: A mountain vacation in the mountains during December guarantees a “White Christmas”. Our mountain managers suggest the following:

Holiday Décor: Request a Christmas Tree. The tree can be delivered and decorated prior to arrival. To keep the family traditions, consider shipping a small selection of ornaments to the management company prior to your trip. When you arrive, you and your family can place the “finishing touches” on the tree. Few destinations during the holidays rival our Ski Safari Chalet in Beaver Creek, CO. Families will enjoy the spacious 4 bedrooms which sleeps 10 in luxury. Even though true ski-in/out, we suggest apres-ski in the village with a hot cocoa and gelato just a short walk from the chalet.

Gifts: Consider having your gifts shipped to your vacation home rental. Imagine opening gifts by the fireplace watching the falling snow and the twinkling lights of the town. Or, if you desire a forested setting with evergreen trees covered in snow, consider our 3 bedroom condo in West Vail which accommodates 14, just minutes from the slopes yet set within a beautiful valley of mature aspens and evergreen trees, the finest mountain setting for the holidays and beyond. When its time to return home, have the larger gifts shipped.

Skis/Boards: Anyone on your gift list receiving new skis, boots or boards? If yes, ask the managing agent which retailer they prefer and order the equipment to be delivered to the vacation residence. Concerning boots, be sure to use a reputable retailer with a boot-fitting specialist. Bows and gift-wrapping are optional.

Christmas Dinner: The finest restaurants will be booked for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the weekend that follows. If you do not wish to cook, consider a private caterer or chef. Full formal meals can be delivered and re-heated or prepared on-site and professionally served, the choice is yours. Having a holiday party, have TheSociety.com assist you in securing a Butler for your event.

Are You Familiar with Belize

September 14th, 2009 by Joseph

If not, you will be soon. With the increased popularity of Latin America, Belize will soon be one of the hot destinations for the next decade. We suggest you consider a visit now and have bragging rights later. For those who may not know, Belize is an easy 2 hour flight from Miami and Houston with other major cities offering non-stop and direct flight service.

While technically positioned in Latin America due south of Cancun and west of The Cayman Islands, Belize has more in common with the sunny Caribbean with 270 miles of Caribbean coastline, a hot, humid climate and a dress code of light and casual.

The beaches are truly legendary offering the finest of the Caribbean Sea without the built-up hotel and resort zones of their neighbor to the North. Travel to Belize is quite easy, just a valid passport and no visas are required for citizens of the United States, the European community — including Great Britain and Ireland, South Africa, Australia, or New Zealand. (Tourists are permitted a maximum 30 day visit).

Belize’s high season for tourism is similar to the Caribbean and runs from late November to late April, a perfect antidote against the winter in North America. The average daytime temperature is 80°F; however, we suggest a light sweater or windbreaker due to possible evening chill between December and February.

A getaway to Belize can be active, passive or both. Many visitors do enjoy the many activities from water sports to river and forest excursions similar to options in Costa Rica. Also, the Mayan history is fascinating. For those in search of true relaxation, Belize beaches are glorious with human-scale development dominated by smaller resorts and private vacation rentals. With a population of only 280,000, open and unspoiled space is plentiful, a true rarity in the Caribbean and Latin America.

At present The Society offers 16 unique vacation rentals in Belize ranging from a one bedroom flat to a 7 bedroom villa on a private island. May we suggest Las Terrazas, a wonderful resort/vacation villa rental. If you are in search of a truly unique vacation away from the crowds and masses, we suggest Belize, a true paradise so close, yet so far.

Kiplinger Personal Finance Mentions Value of Vacation Home Rentals

June 14th, 2009 by Joseph

For many Kiplinger is the bible concerning finance isues for the average investor. While we have been preaching the inherent value of a vacation Home Rental, Kiplinger Personal Finance echoed the sentiment with the following quote

“The recession is making vacation rentals more appealing to travelers because they’re typically less expensive than resort hotels.”

Even before the recession, we at The Society knew the value proposition of the vacation home rental. From more room to roam to privacy not offered by hotels, we receive converts to the rental vacation home option daily. Statistics are proving what we have known, vacation home rental use increases daily and there are no signs of a plateau.

Thus, when contemplating your next vacation, will it be a crowded lounge area by the pool or a private beach? Will you be waiting in a lift line at the base area with others from the hotel or ski from your mountainside chalet? The choice is yours and The Society is here to assist.

Above, a gorgeous 3-bedroom beachfront villa in Belize.
