This magnificent course, located at Pebble Beach, lies between the Cypress Point and Pebble Beach Links courses, and it is known as one of the most challenging courses in the world. This setting has provided unique terrain that Robert Trent Jones, Sr. used to create a diverse golfing experience. The course begins with terrain of sandy dunes which border the coast, and this part of the course challenges golfers to be very accurate with their shots. As the golfers move along, the course's terrain begins to change to include large, fairway-lining pines and well-placed lakes, that make the course even more challenging. Spyglass Hill is also known for its elevated greens that are guarded well by many bunkers. In 2003-2004, Golf Digest listed Spyglass Hill as number five on its list of America's 100 Greatest Public Courses, and Golf Magazine has recognized this course as one of their Top 100 Courses in the U.S. Spyglass Hill has hosted a number of championship tournaments including the AT&T National Pro Am and the 1999 U.S. Amateur.
