One of Colorado's smaller mountains, Buttermilk is located about 3 miles from Aspen. Almost all of the mountain's 420 acres are groomed every night and 74% of the terrain is rated as greens or blues. This makes Buttermilk a clear choice for a season warm-up or for those beginners and intermediates looking to fine tune their skills. Buttermilk also has very knowledgeable ski and snowboard instructors, which too is quite helpful for those looking to improve. Buttermilk does have a wild side though. It is home to the longest terrain park in the world which until 2007 was host for the ESPN Winter X Games. For those not wishing to enter the terrain park, there are plenty of groomers and rollers located along the side of the park. Buttermilk's wonderful environment provides an ideal location to hone in on your snow sport talents. |
