Ski Cooper found near Leadville, is one of the oldest ski areas in Colorado. This secluded resort opened in 1942 and has been a success ever since. Ski Copper is a smaller Colorado mountain but has a lot to offer. There are 400 acres with 26 trails of snow fun. Back country skiing is also offered on Chicago Ridge. As well, visitors can participate in cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Lessons here are very diverse and if rentals are needed they can be found at the base of the mountain. If vacationers want to spend a day away from the slopes the town of Leadville has countless activities, shops, museums, and restaurants to enjoy. Ski Cooper is an excellent choice to escape the crowds and have a pleasant skiing vacation.
