Perhaps the only thing most of us know about the mountain kingdoms of the Himalayas is that they sit on top of the world. The domain of the storied Sherpa guides, and Sir Edmund Hillary amongst others, Bhutan has remained a secret place from outsiders until recently. Located in a beautiful valley at around 7,800 feet in elevation, this idyllic locale is known as the “Temple of Heaven’.
Bhutan may be remote, but the lengthy trip will definitely be worth the while. Green, lush and very mountainous, the valley is surrounded by high cliffs with centuries old monasteries clinging to rock faces.
Perhaps the ideal activity though certainly not the only one, is that of Yoga. The property is a collection of 29 rooms and suites, all with every amenity necessary, and yes indeed, Yoga. A concierge, butler service, a business center with Library and Internet service, and even private cars with drivers are all available to create that memorable and productive experience.
One must also leave room for the Bhutanese-Indian cuisine featured at the restaurant, and an available bar offers dining all day.
