Alpilles of Provence is known as one of most popular tourist attractions in the South of France. This area is known for its beauty, as it epitomizes the French countryside with olive trees, cypresses, rolling hills, and of course, the beautiful Provence-style cottages and churches which dot the entire countryside.
This scenic region gets its names from the Alpilles mountain range, which houses the famous French rivers, the Rhône and the Durance, and the mythical rivers of French folktales as well. Alpilles is a small village, but none the less full of charm, and tourists will want to spend their days wandering the narrow alleys of tightly packed houses, most of which are centuries old.
The most popular activities here include walking, hiking, and cycling as there are not many venues for tourist activities. This of course just adds to the city’s charm, and will allow visitors to remember Alpilles for being a city untouched by the hands of tourism. |
