Winter Park is a smaller resort town, but contains a huge mountain that remains one of the biggest ski areas in Colorado. The resort can easily compete with any of the Summit County mountains, but allows its visitors a small town feel that is perfect for a relaxing vacation. Nearby Silver Creek Resort is about 15 miles north and is a great mountain for beginners and children, or for those who crave a more secluded retreat. Vacation rentals are plentiful in this area, and the amount of properties being built are growing at an alarming rate, making this the new "it" destination.
